Meet the Editor — Sérgio Antonini
Steel In Focus is independently managed and edited by Sérgio Antonini, a Mechanical Engineer who graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in 1988 and completed postgraduate studies in Business Management at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in 2004.
Sérgio spent 17 years at USIMINAS, from 1991 to 2008, working in steel sales engineering, technical assistance, customer development, and market analysis. His professional activities included supporting industrial customers in selecting and applying steel products across sectors such as agricultural equipment, automotive components, metalworking, construction, and transportation.
His subsequent experience includes international procurement, steel sourcing, supplier evaluation, technical qualification, and import operations, with professional activities involving suppliers in China, South Korea, Taiwan, and other international markets.
This background contributes practical engineering and commercial perspectives to the editorial direction of Steel In Focus.
